Using our data

Lodestone compiles public elder-care records from all 51 U.S. jurisdictions into one consistent format. Most uses are free. If your organization needs the whole compiled dataset or a regular feed, you can license it.

Free — no permission needed

Reading the site, citing it, and using individual pages or the per-state files on our data page are free. Please credit "Lodestone Eldercare Guide" and link the page you used, and verify any figure against the official source it links to. Research and journalism use is free with citation — if you're a reporter or researcher, just get in touch and tell us what you need.

The per-state downloads and the national summary on the data page stay free, always.

Licensed — for organizations that need it in bulk

Organizations can license the compiled dataset and its monthly refresh: all 51 jurisdictions in one schema, a change log with each update, and a provenance record (source link, retrieval date, and content hash for each entry). This is a service for teams that would otherwise rebuild and maintain this themselves.

Bulk or automated re-use, redistribution, and use for building or training AI models require a license. To ask about one, email [email protected] and tell us what you're trying to do — we'll take it from there.

What we don't do

We don't license the safety information as an endorsement, and we won't remove or soften a facility's negative record for anyone — the record is the public record. Money never changes what the data says.

Data is provided as dated snapshots, as published; freshness is shown per source on each page and on the data page. Not medical, legal, or financial advice.
